CYCLE was born in 1971 in Connecticut. His first artistic influences
came in the form of skateboard graphics and the graffiti around New
York City he would see when he went skating. By 1989 CYCLE had taken
his first steps towards actively pursuing an interest in graffiti and
making art in general. The early 90's found CYCLE in college in
Washington DC, where he spent four years helping to found a graffiti
movement in our nation's capital and receiving a Bachelor's of Fine Art
from George Washington University. After graduation CYCLE moved to
Brooklyn and proceeded to paint in and around the NYC area. In 1996
CYCLE moved west to San Francisco California to pursue his masters
degree at The Academy of Art University and paint in a new city. After
three years in California CYCLE returned to the East coast where he
now resides in Queens, New York. He continues to stay active by
painting his fine art and making a living doing graphic design and
illustration. His art work has been showcased in publications such as
Mass Appeal magazine, Juxtapoz, Complex, and Beautiful Decay. He has
also done artwork for Think Skateboards and Kid Robot. CYCLE has
exhibited his fine art in group and solo shows in Connecticut,
Washington D.C., San Francisco, Baltimore, Colorado, New York and most
recently at the Phoenix Museum of Fine Art. |
